OneCNC Series Updates

This is a history of all OneCNC updates.

You may notice sometimes there can be a jump in version numbers.

This is due to intensive and continual internal testing where we thoroughly test versions before releasing proven functional updates.

To download updates, see our OneCNC Updates page.

OneCNCXR6 40.68

OneCNCXR6 Version 40.68 has been released and is available in the update server.

New Features:

OneCNCXR6 Milling Versions

In this release there are some changes to the traditional pocket function.

The traditional pocket function has a feature for the last depth of cut pass that the ftool lifts and ramps to the next transition position leaving a much cleaner pass between passes. This feature is automatic by default and there is a new feature that allows for this functionality to be turned off when desired.

There is a change to the spiral facing function.

The facing function when set to spiral also has by default lifts after each spiral to transition to the next spiral to improve the finish and this setting can be now changed to no lift if desired.

OneCNCXR6 40.59

OneCNCXR6 Version 40.59 has been released and is available in the update server.

This version has the following updates:

Changes in OneCNC Mill Versions

Saving of Default Axis in OneCNCXR6 Mill Properties

Now when a user in the mill systems sets an axis for the CAM such as 5 axis positional it will be automatically saved in the file.

This allows for when re-opening the same file again it will be still set to the 5 axis positioning as set by the user.

The file will always stay as last set by the user.

When the user opens a new file it will be set back to the default setting as set in the properties setting as shown in this dialog.

On installation of a new software it will be set to standard 3 axis as shown in this dialog.

Users do not need to change the default setting if they mostly use 3 axis.

If a user has a 5 axis positional machine and always uses 5 axis positional he could change the default to 5 axis positional so even new files would open set to 5 axis positional.

This has been a popular request by users in the support line and has been mentioned in the forum.

This automated method should assist because unless they have reason to set the default differently no further interaction is required and the file will always be as previously set by the user.

The user only needs to remember to set the axis as required when starting the CAM function.

Changes in OneCNC Lathe Versions

Saving of Default Axis in OneCNCXR6 Lathe Properties

Now when a user in the lathe systems sets an axis for the CAM such as y axis positional it will be automatically saved in the file.

This allows for when re-opening the same file again it will be still set to the y axis as set by the user.

The file will always stay as last set by the user.

When the user opens a new file it will be set back to the default setting as set in the properties setting as shown in this dialog.

On installation of a new software it will be set to standard C axis as shown in this dialog.

Users do not need to change the default setting if they mostly use 3 axis.

This has been a popular request by users in the support line and has been mentioned in the forum.

This automated method should assist because unless they have reason to set the default differently no further interaction is required and the file will always be as previously set by the user.

The user only needs to remember to set the axis as required when starting the CAM function.

OneCNCXR6 Lathe (All Versions)

When using lathe tools such as button tip styles the simulation has been updated.

We have made changes in the Lathe simulation to better represent what happens when using a button type style tool  while using the G41 G42 offsets in the control.

When machining a part like this sheave pulley as this example picture shows some users may not realise the problems associated with this type of tool if the correct details are not used.

When the back side of the tool is used for actual cutting which also applies to all tools and using the back edge of the tool it is very important that the details of the tools are correctly entered.

This is because if the user is only setting the tool offsets to the leading tangent edge and the diameter tangent edge the tip radius is very important.

In the past it was expected experienced users to use the turn face automatic setting to see the simulated results.

The simulation now will reflect the correct simulation of the tool using the G41/G42 offset providing the details of the tool are correctly into the tool details.

It is not always understood the importance of having the correct angled of the tool and or the radius of the tip. If the back side of the tool is also cutting or profiling as per this example if the tool is not correct the part will not be correct. It is not possible to change the tip radius unless the program is not made suitable.

This next picture shows the importance of the correct details for a finishing tool where it also uses the back edge for finishing.

Windows 10 to be released >>>

Microsoft are soon to release Windows 10. Microsoft have announced that the upgrade would be free to existing licences of Windows therefore we believe it may be a popular upgrade.

OneCNC has been testing and this latest OneCNCXR6 40.52 has very good feel and and functionality in this latest Windows 10.

OneCNC official tests  in Windows Technical Release Versions that OneCNCXR6 40.52 is good to go when Windows 10 is released.

Windows 10 Technical Test versions are available for users but Microsoft are not recommending that you change until the final release which is said to be available July 29
